Yes, my background does not include extensive study and didactic lessons in art.  My extensive business background left me with an invaluable lesson which can be summed-up in one word: Network network, network.

Lesson intact, my first order of business upon arrival in south Florida was visiting a local grocery store. My first visit to the Wellington Whole Foods store placed me in direct contact with a bulletin board outside of a small dining ware. The bulletin board included postings regarding an art society. As I perused the board, I noticed a reference to the art pieces displayed around the dining area were pieces developed an displayed my members of the society.  Voila!  Network?

My membership in the Wellington Art Society offered more opportunity than I anticipated.  Within weeks of joining the society, I found myself tending a booth at the Annual Art Fest on the Green in Wellington event. (January 28-29).  The Society offer educational opportunities as well as various exhibit prospects across the community.

Opportunity to display  completed art pieces was enhanced via joining other art societies and art leagues.
